I didn't think there was a lot of great entertainment news this week other than the usual Michael Jackson is getting sued and Paula Abdul being addicted to pain pills so I'm going to write about something that makes me happy--Susan Boyle.
According to Visible Measures, which measures the use of online videos across more than 150 video-sharing sites, has compiled a list called the “100 Million Views Club” which is of online videos that have topped the 100 million viewership. No. 1 was music video, "Crank That," by Soulja Boy, recording 356 million hits. No. 2 was the video trailer to "Twilight," which had 267 million clicks. No. 3 and 4 respictively were, Maria Carey's "Touch My Body," and stand-up commedian Jeff Dunham's act, "Achmed the Dead Terrorist." Finally No. 5 was Susan Boyle from "Britian's God Talent." Boyle raked in 186 million views.
After watching Susan Boyle's performance all I could do was smile. This homely looking woman's dreams are about to come true. She has the most amazing voice and along with it the most naive and purest soul. I hope she gets a good manager who won't try to use her for money and publicity but will actually manage her to their best ability because of her talent.

Thank you Miss California
This week partial nude photos of Miss California have been popping up all over the internet. For those of you who dont know much about Miss California, she was asked her view of gay marriage during the Miss America pageant and stated that she believed marriage was between a man and a woman.
Miss California is a self-proclaimed Christian and model. She quoted “I am a Christian, and I am a model. Models pose for pictures, including lingerie and swimwear photos. Recently, photos taken of me as a teenager have been released surreptitiously to a tabloid Web site that openly mocks me for my Christian faith. I am not perfect, and I will never claim to be.”
I'm not quite sure what to think about this. Im sad that even Christian women supposedly can't keep their clothes on. I do think it is unfair though that just because she claimed to be against same sex marriage that every media venue is out to get her. If gays and lesbians want to be equal then why can't Miss California share her honest and equal opinion. Gays and lesbians don't get criticized in the media for saying they are for same sex marriage so California shouldn't be criticized for being against it.

Angels & Demons
On May 15 Angels & Demons, the prequel to The Davinci Code will be hitting theaters. For those of you who haven't read The Davinci Code, I would highly recommend it. It was an easy reading book filled with interestering history. If you liked Indiana Jones you will like The Davinci Code.
One thing I personally loved about the book/movie was how it related religion to popular history and science. This book/movie gets you thinking about Jesus, Mary, Leonardi Da Vinci, and the Holy Grail in ways you never thought possible.
After watching the movie I became interested in the Holy Grail and Mary Magdalene and how that was related to Christianity. Be prepared to do research to suppress you curiosity.

Adopting Publicity
Since the Jolie-Pitt crew started adopting kids, all of Hollywood has followed in their footsteps. This week Madonna has been trying to adopt child, Chifundo "Mercy" James. Madonna already has an adopted son that came from the same country as Mercy, Malawi.
I love adoption and plan to do it one day myself but for the sake of the kids don't you think its only fair to them if rules apply to every parent looking to adopt?
Malawi requires prospective parents to live there for 18 to 24 months while child welfare authorities assess their suitability. The rule wasn't applied when Madonna was allowed to take David to London in 2006.
Just because Madonna is rich and famous it doesnt mean rules don't apply to her. I feel in some cases because Madonna is rich and famous she should under-go even more rules than most people since the rich famous tend to have just as many if not more problems the average adopting couple.
For the sake of the child I hope Malawi isn't allowing this just for the publicity.

"Some people are saying, wouldn’t it be amazing that in the same year that the first African-American president took office in the U.S., we also elected the first gay and/or bisexual ‘American Idol’,” said Robert Thompson, professor of popular culture at Syracuse University in New York.
Prince. Clay Aiken. Ellen Degeneres. T.R. Knight. Have we never had a gay entertainer before?
Robert Thompson made this reference is regards to the possibility of Adam Lambert becoming the first gay American Idol winner. I am a bit ashamed of this professor who put our President in the same category as a gay singer. Although it was pivotal for our nation to elect its first African American President was it equally as great that our country might vote a gay American Idol? I think not.
